As part of a diverse team that includes software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, you will collaborate across AWS to uphold the highest standards of safety and security while delivering exceptional capacity at minimal cost. In this position, you will be involved in projects of moderate complexity, assisting in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA). Your responsibilities will include performing rack installations and decommissioning, conducting operational readings, and managing facility operations. You will provide key performance indicators to senior engineers and oversee the on-site management of contractors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation. Monitoring the performance of maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center will be crucial, as will adhering to safety procedures during all work activities. You will also assist with basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management, and writing procedures. The work schedule may vary based on specific site needs, with shifts lasting up to 12 hours and potential on-call rotations. You will maintain critical infrastructure equipment to ensure 99.999% uptime for the world's largest cloud computing portfolio, and the role may require support across multiple locations. Physical demands include walking on uneven terrain, maintaining balance while performing construction tasks on ladders, and regularly lifting or moving weights of up to 39 pounds independently, with group lifts for heavier items. You will engage in various physical activities such as walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, and more.
