AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring that the cloud remains operational and efficient. This team supports all AWS data centers, managing the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that provide customers with continuous access to the innovations they depend on. The role involves tackling complex challenges with numerous variables affecting the supply chain, and we are seeking talented individuals who are eager to contribute to this mission. As part of a diverse team that includes software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, you will collaborate across AWS to uphold the highest standards of safety and security while delivering vast capacity at minimal cost to our customers. In this position, you will be involved in projects of moderate complexity, assisting in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA). Your responsibilities will include performing rack installations and decommissioning, conducting operational readings, and managing facility operations. You will provide key performance indicators to senior engineers and oversee the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation. Monitoring the performance of maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center will be crucial, as will adhering to safety procedures during all work activities. You will also assist with basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management creation, writing procedures, and building management systems. The work schedule may vary based on specific site needs, with shifts lasting up to 12 hours and potential rotation on a predefined schedule. Some locations may require on-call rotations. Your role will be vital in maintaining the critical infrastructure equipment of the data center, ensuring an uptime of 99.999% for the world's largest cloud computing portfolio. You may be required to support multiple locations/sites, navigate uneven terrain, and perform various physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
