About the position

The Multi-Skilled Operator II - HVAC Specialist position is focused on maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems within data center facilities. The role is essential for ensuring reliable climate control, which is critical for the operation of data center equipment. The technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, manage facility tasks, and respond to HVAC emergencies, all while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems in data center areas.
• Monitor and adjust HVAC settings to maintain optimal temperature and humidity levels.
• Clean, replace, and maintain air filters, coils, and other HVAC components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC issues, conducting repairs or escalating complex problems.
• Conduct performance testing on HVAC systems and document findings.
• Provide rapid response to HVAC emergencies and perform after-hours on-call support.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance related to HVAC systems.
• Handle minor plumbing repairs to support HVAC systems.
• Conduct general cleaning and organization in areas housing HVAC equipment.
• Maintain accurate HVAC maintenance records and track inventory of HVAC-specific parts.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in HVAC maintenance.
• EPA certification level 2, 3, or universal preferred.
• Mechanical Technician or Electrical Technician background required.
• Strong proficiency in HVAC troubleshooting and repair.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional certifications related to electrical or mechanical systems.
• Experience in a data center or similar high-demand environment.
