About the position

The Data Center Facilities Technician is a multi-skilled operator responsible for providing building maintenance services to client facilities. This role involves supporting on-site electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs, focusing on non-critical aspects of the buildings and grounds as directed by the Client Project Manager or designated personnel. The position requires a flexible schedule, including a 6-week rotation of 2 weeks on days and 2 weeks on nights.

Responsibilities

• Perform general area cleanup to maintain a tidy and organized environment.
• Conduct touch-up painting as needed to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the facility.
• Manage tool inventory and ensure tools are maintained in good working condition.
• Undertake door repairs and handle the mounting of signage as required.
• Execute minor electrical tasks such as replacing light bulbs and addressing minor electrical issues.
• Handle minor plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks and addressing drainage issues.
• Perform basic minor carpentry tasks to repair or improve building structures and fixtures.
• Address specific or immediate industrial cleaning tasks as needed to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Undertake light-duty mechanical tasks to ensure equipment and systems are functioning optimally.
• Monitor and replace HVAC filters and light bulbs in designated areas to ensure efficient operation and lighting.
• Perform snow removal during the winter season to maintain safe access to the facility.
• Assist with landscaping and clean-up tasks to enhance the outdoor areas of the facility.
• Handle carpet cleaning or replacement projects as required.
• Undertake other tasks and special projects designated by the Client Project Manager or designated personnel.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
• Proficiency in a range of maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Any relevant certifications or licenses related to building maintenance are a plus.
