About the position

The Data Center Facilities Technician is responsible for the operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of HVAC equipment and electrical systems within data centers. This role involves resolving client issues, monitoring network alarms, and ensuring operational efficiency through regular inspections and maintenance of infrastructure equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC and electrical systems in data centers.
• Resolve colocation client issues and internal trouble tickets in a timely manner.
• Monitor and analyze network and infrastructure alarms, escalating issues as necessary.
• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Maintain electrical drawing documentation and support projects related to data center infrastructure.
• Work with contractors and customers to complete assignments satisfactorily.
• Conduct security and facilities rounds to ensure site integrity.
• Manage customer installation activities including cage builds and rack layouts.
• Monitor building management systems for operational efficiencies.
• Conduct daily inspections of all data center infrastructure equipment.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience in data center operations and facilities is preferred.
• Operational experience with data center equipment such as switchgear, generators, UPS, PDU, chillers, and CRAC systems.
• Familiarity with software tools like Visio, AutoCAD, SAP, Maximo, CAFM, Siebel, and Adobe Acrobat Writer is advantageous.
• Strong team player with effective communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Benefits

• Salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 per year plus bonus.
