Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an energetic Data Center Facility Manager to serve as a technical resource and leader within Amazon data centers. This position is crucial for ensuring the overall availability and reliability of data center operations, meeting or exceeding defined service levels. The Data Center Facility Manager will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center, which supports mission-critical servers that must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This role acts as Amazon's front line for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting mission-critical data center facility equipment including electrical support equipment such as stand-by diesel generators, 3 phase electrical systems, UPS units, PDUs, and wet cell batteries. Mechanical equipment responsibilities include CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, and motors, along with fire suppression systems and building automation systems. In this role, the Data Center Facility Manager will oversee all aspects of the data center's critical physical infrastructure, ensuring that all work performed within the space is done to high quality and without impact to internal or external customers. The manager will lead teams of 24x7 engineering technicians, engage in improvement projects, coordinate with third-party vendors, and manage the operations budget effectively. The position also requires responding to after-hours emergency calls and acting as an escalation point for facilities-related issues, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
