About the position

As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Data Center facilities. This position involves performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation, which is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. You will be responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments, ensuring that all mechanical and engineering systems are functioning optimally and safely. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting site inspections of all mechanical and engineering systems and technical equipment. You will be tasked with servicing and maintaining these systems to ensure that the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment. In the event of Building Management System alarms, you will react promptly and complete emergency repairs as needed. Collaboration with third-party vendors will be essential, ensuring compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations. You will also be responsible for alerting management if subcontractor performance does not meet the requirements outlined in the Master Service Agreement. Completing planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment will be a key part of your role. You will check the Building Management System (BMS) for running and alarm conditions and respond to HVAC-related client problems. Additionally, you will conduct building walkthroughs, take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities, and provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects. Your work will be guided by established processes and procedures, and you will follow all safety processes and requirements to ensure that all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met. Conducting routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records will also be part of your responsibilities. To succeed in this role, you will need to complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities. You will be expected to deliver your output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Training in a Technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
  • Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this role.
  • Ability to effectively present information to an internal department, client, management and/or colleagues.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
