About the position

The Data Center Hardware Engineering Program Manager (EPM) is responsible for the planning and execution of system builds, driving system board and flex design releases from prototype through engineering design validation. This role requires leading complex hardware builds, managing board design release schedules, and resolving technical build blockers by collaborating with various internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute prototype builds, including materials planning and factory readiness.
  • Establish daily build schedules and distribution plans to support the overall project plan for builds globally.
  • Partner closely with multiple teams across Apple to understand key design changes requiring validation.
  • Drive development timelines for new boards and flexes, leading the internal review process and release to vendors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for contract manufacturers and worldwide team members, providing clear direction on requests to the factory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • 5+ years of industry experience in hardware engineering program management.
  • Proven track record in hardware engineering or operations program management, particularly with factory builds and vendor collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to manage complex build matrices and micro schedules.

  • Ability to handle rapid development cycles and constant change, remaining flexible and calm in uncertainty.
  • Experience with international travel for factory builds and planning.

  • Strong partnership with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering validation needs into the system build matrix.
