About the position

The Data Center Infrastructure Operations Network Engineer will be a key technical team member responsible for maintaining the platform's infrastructure, ensuring operational continuity for end users. This role involves automating system performance metrics, balancing hybrid cloud distributions, and collaborating within a diverse team in an Agile environment. The engineer will also be tasked with managing various network devices and systems, while fostering strong relationships with customers and technical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical infrastructure including VMware, Micro-Services, Networking, and Security Services.
  • Automate, collect, process, and present system performance metrics.
  • Balance hybrid cloud distribution between private and public clouds.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team across multiple projects in an Agile environment.
  • Implement, operate, and maintain physical switches, routers, IPS, and IDS devices.
  • Manage VMware NSX based SDN and understand Kubernetes and micro-service applications.
  • Review and revise processes for maintaining infrastructure configuration management.
  • Author and maintain scripts in a managed Git repository.
  • Analyze real-world problems and implement solutions according to guidelines and best practices.
  • Document and present performance records and results.
  • Proactively identify, locate, mitigate, and resolve network issues.

Requirements

  • Experience with Linux system management, particularly Red Hat enterprise services.
  • Ability to implement and maintain physical network devices and VMware NSX.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes and micro-service based applications.
  • Experience with scripting for automation and administration tasks.
  • Ability to analyze and solve technical problems across integrated software and hardware platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Ansible or similar infrastructure automation tools.
  • Knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST guidelines.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms such as Ansible and Terraform.
