About the position

As a Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT) at Microsoft, you will be responsible for managing inventory and asset logistics within the data center environment. This role involves performing cycle audits, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring compliance with security and data management policies. You will gain hands-on experience in inventory management principles and contribute to the operational efficiency of Microsoft's cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Perform cycle audits and execute incoming/outgoing deliveries.
• Coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors.
• Document inbound and outbound deliveries.
• Engage in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) for every task performed.
• Coordinate, prepare, and execute incoming/outgoing deliveries, including purchase order receiving and Rack Movement Supervisor activities.
• Maintain accurate inventory tracking and staging.
• Build good working relationships with customers and manage expectations regarding inventory tasks.
• Perform inventory cycle audits and data corrections.
• Engage suppliers to initiate warranty claims and process orders.
• Follow all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) related to warranty processes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma AND 6 months experience or an internship in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including non-standard business hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• 1+ year(s) experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment or logistics.
• Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks).
