About the position

As a Microsoft Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician Manager (DIAM), you will lead a team responsible for managing inventory and asset logistics within a data center environment. This role involves overseeing inbound and outbound logistics, conducting inventory audits, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing warranty processes. You will work closely with stakeholders to resolve issues and drive efficiency in inventory management tasks, all while promoting a culture of safety and compliance among your team.

Responsibilities

  • Train team members on safety standards and compliance with heavy-lifting equipment requirements.
  • Support planning and management of end-to-end project plans, assessing resource and workflow patterns.
  • Lead a team executing incoming/outgoing deliveries and documenting inbound/outbound packages.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for inbound and outbound processes.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage and resolve issues.
  • Empower junior employees to process Return Merchandise Authorization warranties and handle escalations.
  • Ensure destruction of data-bearing devices, coordinating with third-party vendors as necessary.
  • Present briefings on current and projected procurement models and draft purchase orders with accurate pricing.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve efficiency, cost, and simplicity of workstream processes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma AND 3 years experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment, logistics, or inventory management OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
  • Verification of citizenship with a valid passport due to legal restrictions.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment or logistics for a large corporation.
  • 1+ year project management experience.
  • Certification in APICS, ASCM, IAITAM, or equivalent.
