Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician Manager

About the position

As a Microsoft Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician Manager (DIAM), you will lead a team of Inventory & Asset Management technicians responsible for inbound/outbound logistics tasks, inventory cycle audits, and Data Center regulatory compliance activities. You will guide your employees to effectively run warranty processes and data bearing device (DBD) destruction. This opportunity will allow you to model leadership principles, drive focus on accurately and efficiently completing Inventory and Asset Management (IAM) tasks, and work with stakeholders to manage escalations as they arise. Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I DIAM, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Inventory & Asset Management technicians.
• Oversee inbound/outbound logistics tasks and inventory cycle audits.
• Ensure Data Center regulatory compliance activities are met.
• Guide employees in warranty processes and DBD destruction.
• Model leadership principles and drive focus on IAM tasks.
• Manage escalations with stakeholders as they arise.
• Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly and effectively.
• Assess resource and workflow patterns for needed changes.
• Support planning, management, and communication of project plans.
• Document, track, and resolve issues with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Coordinate relationships with third-party vendors for DBD destruction.
• Comply with methodologies for contract and purchase order execution.
• Process price and procurement requests for server and network requirements.
• Provide thought leadership on established methodologies.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Seek opportunities to contribute to and evolve workstream processes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma AND 3+ years experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, logistics, or a related field.
• OR equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment, IT, and/or logistics.
• 1+ year project management experience.
• Certification in APICS/ASCM, IAITAM, Inventory Control, OR equivalent.
