About the position

As a Microsoft Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT), you will play a crucial role in the management of inventory and assets within our data centers. Your primary responsibilities will include performing cycle audits, executing incoming and outgoing deliveries, and coordinating security escorts for third-party vendors. You will also be responsible for documenting inbound and outbound deliveries as instructed by management, initiating warranty claims, and processing returns on failed equipment. Responsibilities

  • Perform cycle audits and execute incoming/outgoing deliveries.
  • Coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors.
  • Document inbound and outbound deliveries as instructed by management.
  • Initiate warranty claims and process returns on failed equipment.
  • Engage in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) for every task and ensure sign-off for related risks.
  • Perform data entry to document inbound and outbound packages.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing deliveries and records.
  • Develop working knowledge of stock control and inventory management practices.
  • Perform material movement, including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process.
  • Engage suppliers to initiate warranty claims when automation is not available and process orders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma AND 6 months experience or an internship in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including non-standard business hours such as evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ year(s) experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment or logistics.
  • Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks, chassis lifts).
