The Data Center M&E Technician role at CBRE is a critical position that involves applying advanced skills to perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a data center operation. This position requires oversight of various electrical and mechanical systems, including Universal Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers, Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), and CMMS Work Dispatching. The technician will be responsible for ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and safely, adhering to the company's Environment, Health and Safety Policy. This includes following all safety processes and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards. In this role, the technician will perform daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering (M&E) systems and technical equipment, ensuring that all servicing and maintenance tasks are completed according to established processes and procedures. The technician will also coordinate with third-party vendors, ensuring that they comply with CBRE's developed processes and all applicable laws and regulations. This may involve accompanying vendors on site visits to ensure that site standards are met. Monitoring the Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electric Plant Monitoring Systems (EPMS) alarms is another key responsibility, ensuring that all parameters remain within allowable operating bands and performing incident response when necessary. The technician will also assist in building and developing work processes, Job Hazard Analysis reports, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical work, including risk assessments. Additionally, the technician will ensure that Critical Environment Risk Management (CERM) documents and logbooks are updated regularly.
