About the position

As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, where you will be responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments. The position requires you to work onsite in Prineville, Oregon, ensuring that all mechanical and engineering systems and technical equipment are properly maintained and serviced. You will assist with daily site inspections, ensuring that the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment. Reacting to Building Management System alarms and completing emergency repairs as needed will be a critical part of your role. You will also work with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations. If subcontractor performance does not meet the requirements per the Master Service Agreement, you will alert management accordingly. Your responsibilities will include completing planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment, checking the Building Management System (BMS) for running and alarm conditions, and responding to HVAC-related client problems. You will conduct building walkthroughs, take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities, and provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects. Completing assigned work according to established processes and procedures is essential, as is following all safety processes and requirements to ensure that all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met. You will conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records and complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities. The role will require you to use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having limited opportunities to exercise discretion, impacting through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks described in detail. You will deliver your output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Training in a Technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
  • Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this role.
  • Ability to effectively present information to an internal department, client, management, and/or colleagues.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
