About the position

As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This is an onsite position in New Albany, Ohio, and is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. The role involves ensuring technical maintenance services in critical client environments, which is essential for the smooth operation of data centers. You will assist with daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally and that the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment. In this position, you will react to Building Management System alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed. You will work closely with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations. It is crucial to alert management if subcontractor performance does not meet the requirements outlined in the Master Service Agreement. You will also be responsible for completing planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment, checking BMS for running and alarm conditions, and responding to HVAC-related client problems. Your daily tasks will include conducting building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDU's, and utilities, and providing fixes to facility and plant faults and defects. You will complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures, follow all safety processes and requirements, and ensure that all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met. Additionally, you will conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records and complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities. This role requires you to use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having limited opportunities to exercise discretion, impacting through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks that are described in detail. You will deliver your output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Training in a Technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
  • Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this role.
  • Ability to effectively present information to an internal department, client, management and/or colleagues.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
