About the position
Nexeo HR is seeking a well-seasoned Material Handler for a Data Center located in the Los Angeles, Torrence, and El Segundo Area. The ideal candidate must possess experience in material handling and have reliable transportation to and from the work site. The primary responsibilities of the Material Handler include receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing various materials such as server equipment, networking hardware, cables, and other related items. This role is crucial in ensuring that materials are readily available to support ongoing operations and projects within the data center. The Material Handler will work closely with various teams to facilitate the smooth operation of the data center. This includes conducting thorough inspections of incoming shipments to ensure quality and accuracy, maintaining accurate inventory records using inventory management software, and conducting regular audits to reconcile any discrepancies. Proper storage of materials in designated locations is essential to ensure easy accessibility while adhering to safety protocols. Additionally, the Material Handler will fulfill material requests from internal teams, prepare materials for shipment, and coordinate with vendors for timely deliveries. Candidates must be prepared to undergo a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working in a warehouse environment, preferably within a data center. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds or more) are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- 1+ year(s) of experience working in a warehouse environment, preferably within a Data Center Environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills are a requirement.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and proficiency in using material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling and documenting material transactions.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds or more) and perform tasks that require prolonged standing, walking, and bending.
