SAIC is seeking two Data Center Network Administrators to support the US Army Corps of Engineers on the Revolutionary IT Services (USACE RITS) project. These positions are available in Ashburn, VA, and San Jose, CA, and will involve both remote work and on-site activities. The primary responsibility of the Data Center Network Administrator is to operate, optimize, and maintain the infrastructure within the data center environment, ensuring the availability, reliability, and scalability of the data center network. The role requires monitoring network and service performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing necessary moves, adds, and changes. Accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures is essential. The administrator will also provide on-call support and participate in an on-call rotation schedule. Responsibilities include rack/stack, cabling, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all IT equipment, tools, and consumables in the data center. Adhering to and enforcing data center best practices, such as cable management and airflow management, is crucial. The administrator will participate in project coordination meetings and communicate necessary information to update engineering and project management. Collaboration with facility managers to maintain and identify changes to electrical and mechanical systems affecting the data center space is also part of the role, focusing on availability, service delivery, and customer relationship management. Additionally, the administrator will manage and maintain servers (both physical and virtual), databases, appliances, services, and applications hosted at the data center that support network management.
