About the position

The Data Center Network Architect role is focused on designing and implementing network infrastructure for data centers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The position requires a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in the context of data center environments, including knowledge of power systems, cooling configurations, and optical network design. The architect will work closely with vendors and suppliers, utilizing advanced tools like AutoCAD and BIM to create efficient designs that meet industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network infrastructure for data centers.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot power and cooling configurations in data center environments.
  • Direct tasks and communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers.
  • Utilize AutoCAD/AutoDesk tools for design purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC and NEMA standards in electrical configurations.
  • Collaborate with global teams to achieve project goals.
  • Conduct field-based work in POPs, carrier hotels, and central office environments.

Requirements

  • 7-8 years of experience in electrical engineering work.
  • Outstanding proficiency with AutoCAD/AutoDesk tools, including BIM 360 and Blue Beam.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles related to data center infrastructure, including power and cooling.
  • Understanding of optical network design and maintenance for service providers or enterprise networks.
  • Experience with field-based work in data centers and telecom environments.
  • Technical knowledge of various data center electrical and cooling configurations.
  • Basic knowledge of optical theory and transport technologies.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience in directing tasks to vendors and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with power-related projects.
