About the position

The Data Center Network Deploy Technician role at Amazon involves managing and supporting AWS's vast network infrastructure. This position requires working with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment to ensure the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks. The technician will collaborate with various stakeholders, troubleshoot networking issues, and assist in the migration and configuration of new hardware, all while adhering to best practices and operational procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including network device configuration and low-level application interaction.
• Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
• Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
• Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
• Move and lift computer equipment up to 40 lbs.

Requirements

• Technical Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA).
• 2+ years in data center or critical environment.
• 2+ years of experience with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment (VFL, power meter, and OTDR, etc.).
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, etc.).
• Experience with ethernet and IP networking.
• Experience in large scale data center network implementations and support.
• Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments.
