About the position

The Network Operations role at DISH involves ensuring the reliability and performance of the enterprise network systems and services. This position is critical in maintaining an operational uptime of 99.95% and includes responsibilities such as network performance tuning, project implementation, and providing technical leadership to junior team members. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to support complex network projects and ensure ongoing availability of network services.

Responsibilities

  • Follow necessary processes to ensure enterprise network systems and services meet an operational uptime of 99.95%.
  • Conduct advanced enterprise-level performance tuning and network performance audits regularly.
  • Maintain daily operational responsibility for the reliability of the DISH corporate network.
  • Manage enterprise network systems and services to ensure operational uptime of 99.95%.
  • Design and implement data network services, performing regular network testing and evaluation.
  • Monitor ongoing availability of network services and processes.
  • Validate customer network configurations by checking log flows, event threshold settings, and alarm notifications.
  • Provide advanced technical leadership for complex project work.
  • Supply advanced technical direction and leadership to junior members of the data networking team.
  • Gather requirements, create specifications, and design solutions for network projects.
  • Provide hands-on implementation and ongoing maintenance for network projects.
  • Develop implementations in a lab environment to validate design specifications.

Requirements

  • Experience with Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure running Network mode for data center routing/switching.
  • Practical experience with LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLAN, DMVPN, VPN, and high-availability/multipath/redundant routers, switches, and firewalls in a large data center environment.
  • Support for network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VLAN, TCP/IP, MPLS, STP, IPv4, and sub-netting.
  • Familiarity with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ISE, networking for F5 LTM/GTM, and networking for IPS/IDS is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco routers and switches (Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS).
  • General technical knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and platforms including Nexus, ASR, ISR, and Catalyst.
  • Experience with network configuration automation (Scripting with Perl/Python/Bash), SD-Access, and DNA Center is a plus.
