About the position

The Data Center Network Technician role involves performing server maintenance and acting as the remote hands and eyes in data centers for a large software company. The technician will be responsible for tasks such as un-racking and racking servers, wiring data and power cables, reseating server components, replacing drives, troubleshooting fiber connections, and diagnosing simple hardware issues. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to work independently while being a reliable team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform server maintenance including un-racking and racking servers.
• Wire data and power cables as needed.
• Reseat server components and replace drives.
• Troubleshoot fiber connections and diagnose simple hardware issues.
• Move between 4 or 5 sites for maintenance tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer diagnostic skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Reliable transportation to commute between sites.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a data center.
• Experience working with server hardware.
• Experience with intra building cross connects.
• Previous management experience.
