About the position

The Data Center Network Technician role at AWS Infrastructure Services involves supporting the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This position is crucial for maintaining the health and configuration of infrastructure services, ensuring that customers have continual access to cloud innovations. The technician will work collaboratively with a diverse team to refine operational procedures and develop new tooling to support large-scale enterprise networks.

Responsibilities

• Installation and troubleshooting of infrastructure hardware, software, and connectivity.
• Monitoring and resolving issues with infrastructure hardware and network connectivity.
• Communicating with technical and non-technical staff.
• Working independently and within a team environment.
• Maintaining infrastructure health by collaborating with internal customers and external vendors.
• Implementing proactive issue detection and reporting to maintain service level agreements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM area (preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science) or equivalent industry experience.
• 2+ years of experience in IT systems or relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience in networking fundamentals (Cisco CCNA or equivalent).
• 2+ years of experience as a network engineer with hands-on experience in physical infrastructure installations.

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco routers/switches/firewalls.
• Experience working with data and telecom carriers to procure and activate network circuits.
• Experience administering or supporting Aruba wireless network equipment.
