About the position

The Data Center Operations (DCO) Systems Technician is responsible for providing technical support for maintenance, operations, and expansion efforts within a data center environment. This role focuses on ensuring the uptime of critical systems, performing preventative maintenance, and adhering to safety policies while working collaboratively with vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 100% critical systems uptime
• Train to become a First Responder to critical infrastructure alarms
• Complete work orders accurately and timely
• Handle tools and equipment with precision
• Adhere to Switch Safety Policies and Procedures
• Work with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with standards
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe conditions
• Perform assigned collateral duties and tasks from management
• Attend assigned meetings and training
• Maintain a professional appearance

Requirements

• Some knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment
• Knowledge of data center safety, electrical, and cooling designs
• Ability to follow established safety practices and procedures
• Willingness to work any shift in a 24x7x365 operation, including weekends and holidays
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic typing, email, and computer skills
