Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced
Data Center Operations Lead
to oversee and manage end-to-end operations of large-scale data center environments. This role involves leading a team of engineers, ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of data center infrastructure, and optimizing resources to meet organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to managing complex environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of data center operations engineers to achieve high performance and operational excellence.
Act as the primary escalation point for all data center-related issues and incidents.
Provide training and professional development to team members.
Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the data center technology stack, including VMware, VxRail, Citrix, LogicMonitor, MoogSoft, AD/Azure AD SSO, Azure Security Policy, and more.
Ensure compliance with operational standards, best practices, and security policies.
Plan and execute maintenance, upgrades, and migrations of data center systems.
Incident & Problem Management:
Lead major incidents, ensuring timely resolution and periodic updates to stakeholders.
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
Develop and maintain incident management processes.
Capacity Planning & Optimization:
Monitor resource usage and conduct capacity planning to meet future demands.
Optimize data center performance and operational costs.
Security & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, HIPAA).
Implement and maintain robust security controls and disaster recovery plans.
Technical Expertise:
Manage hybrid cloud environments and ensure integration with on-premise systems.
Support Active Directory (Azure AD, GPO, SSO) and Citrix architecture optimization.
Administer Windows and Linux servers, including monitoring, patching, and performance management.
Collaboration & Communication:
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for support and new technology integration.
Communicate updates on operations and performance to stakeholders.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, configurations, and incident reports.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (advanced degrees preferred).
10+ years of experience in data center operations, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
Strong expertise in servers, storage, networking, and infrastructure tools (e.g., VMware, Citrix, LogicMonitor).
Proficiency in incident management, capacity planning, and compliance frameworks (ITIL, ISO 27001, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications from Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, or relevant storage vendors.
Familiarity with ITSM tools and frameworks.
Experience with hybrid cloud environments and disaster recovery solutions.
Proven vendor management and negotiation skills.
