About the position

The Data Center Operations Tech II position at the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma involves maintaining and servicing the data center environment to ensure the availability and operational readiness of IT systems. The role includes monitoring equipment, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with documentation and installation tasks. This position reports to the Data Center Manager and requires a proactive approach to managing the data center's infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor environment and respond to alarms of abnormal conditions to maintain operational readiness of computing and supporting equipment.
• Operate, monitor, and perform basic troubleshooting of equipment, networks, and data processing.
• Assist with logging and documentation of equipment and processes.
• Oversee the installation of cabling, labeling, and racking of hardware.
• Handle incident monitoring and recording.
• Operate basic test equipment for cabling, electrical, and HVAC components to identify potential performance issues in the data center.
• Help with maintenance and upkeep of active directory accounts and permissions.
• Collect electrical load and environmental data; identify and improve hard infrastructure deficiencies and resource constraints within the site; escalate to engineer.
• Contribute documentation to the knowledgebase including repeatable procedures such as How-To, SOW, MOP, and SOPs.
• Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Requirements

• Associates degree or equivalent working knowledge or 2 years related experience.
• General knowledge of networks and operating systems.
• Experience with one-line and schematic drawings.
• Great attitude with internal customers and external parties.
• Able to lift 60 - 75 lbs.
• 3 years' experience supporting system infrastructure and data center.
