About the position

The Data Center Operations Technician at Falken Industries LLC is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving various data center infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, and networking problems. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, supporting 24/7 operations across multiple sites. The technician will engage in physical activities related to data center operations, ensuring effective capacity planning, rack deployment, and maintenance of service level agreements.

Responsibilities

• Engage in physical data center activities including planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, and rack decommissioning.
• Lift and move materials up to 49 pounds each.
• Work in cramped and/or elevated locations and safely ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways.
• Take ownership of technical issues and collaborate with other teams to drive resolution.
• Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
• Solve problems at their root and understand the broader context of issues.
• Improve effectiveness through process innovation.

Requirements

• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience.
• 2+ years of experience with server hardware.
• 1+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
• Active Security+ certification or ability to obtain one within 90 days of start.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience.
• Hands-on experience with hardware platforms such as Dell or HP.
• Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
• Previous experience working in a Data Center environment, including racking & stacking gear and cable management.
