About the position

The Data Center Operations Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving various data center infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, and networking problems. This role requires a strong technical background, active security clearance, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including night and weekend shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Engage in physical data center activities including planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, and rack cabling.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in the data center environment.
• Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
• Take ownership of technical issues and collaborate with other teams to drive resolution.
• Improve effectiveness through process innovation.

Requirements

• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Associate's degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience.
• 2+ years of experience with server hardware.
• 1+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems.
• Active Security+ certification or ability to obtain one within 90 days of start.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience.
• Hands-on experience with hardware platforms such as Dell or HP.
• Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
• Previous experience working in a Data Center environment.
