About the position

The Data Center Operations Technician at Crusoe Energy is responsible for ensuring the operational integrity and daily operations of mission-critical Modular Data Centers. This role involves monitoring mechanical and electrical systems, performing maintenance, troubleshooting customer infrastructure, and responding to operational alerts. The technician will work to ensure that data center operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the company's mission of utilizing stranded energy resources for environmentally responsible computing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor Data Center operations
  • Monitor HVAC operation
  • Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance
  • Perform or schedule contractors for monthly and annual preventative maintenance
  • Provide proper notification of upcoming maintenance activities, coordinate with appropriate departments
  • Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or after hours
  • Utilize logic to analyze and solve problems
  • Identify and repair data center problems quickly
  • Manage contractor services ensuring quality work product
  • Assist in technical writing of standard operating procedures and maintenance procedures
  • On-Call for operational alerts
  • Troubleshoot fiber network infrastructure

Requirements

  • Proficient understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with data trending/tracking and analysis
  • Expert knowledge in industrial safety best practices
  • Strong hands-on technical background with experience on computer and network gear
  • Proficient network and IT infrastructure knowledge
  • Proficient IT system knowledge
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on oil & gas drilling sites is a major plus
