About the position

We are seeking a smart and friendly data center enthusiast with a knack for problem solving, follow-through, and communication to join Epic's hosting team for work in our data centers across the United States but based in the Verona, Wisconsin headquarters. In this role, you will conduct server installation, wiring, removal, and disposal of enterprise-class data center equipment. You will also help plan the expansion and roll-out of additional equipment and track technical asset use throughout the space. Responsibilities

  • Conduct server installation, wiring, removal, and disposal of enterprise-class data center equipment.
  • Help plan the expansion and roll-out of additional equipment.
  • Track technical asset use throughout the data center space.
  • Follow policies and procedures and escalate when policies or procedures are not followed.
  • Escalate potential security incidents and provide relevant information.
  • Meet all security responsibilities defined in policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A history of professional and/or academic success.
  • Relevant experience with networking, storage, and data centers is a plus.
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Available to travel 50% of the time to our other data centers around the US.
  • Available to cover off-shift maintenance windows occasionally as needed.
  • Relocation to the Madison, WI area (reimbursed).
