About the position

The Data Center Ops Technician position at Amazon Data Services, Inc. is focused on ensuring the availability and reliability of AWS Data Center Operations. This role involves hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participation in an on-call rotation. Technicians will work both independently and collaboratively to install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and resolve complex issues within the data center environment, which operates 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for urgent issues.
• Install equipment and create documentation for processes.
• Innovate solutions to improve data center operations.
• Fix complex problems within the Data Center Space.
• Manage work and priorities through a ticketing system.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Computer Hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills.
• 1+ years of experience in Computer Networking.
• 1+ years of experience with Storage Devices.
• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in an IT related field.
• Understanding of file systems and Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, MAC.
• Good understanding of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with scripting languages.
• Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment).
• Ability to take direction from senior staff and management.
