About the position

The Data Center Ops Technician role at Amazon involves ensuring the availability and reliability of AWS Data Center Operations. This position requires a combination of hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and participation in an on-call rotation. Technicians will work both independently and collaboratively to prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and innovate solutions within a 24/7 operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for data center operations.
• Install equipment and create documentation for processes.
• Innovate solutions to complex problems within the Data Center Space.
• Manage work and priorities through a ticketing system.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in Computer Hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills.
• 1+ years of experience in Computer Networking.
• 1+ years of experience with Storage Devices.
• A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in an IT related field.
• Understanding of file systems and Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, MAC.
• Good understanding of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Understanding of scripting languages.
• Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment).
