About the position

The Data Center Project Manager will serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers, overseeing critical infrastructure improvement projects aimed at optimizing space, power, and cooling utilization. This role involves project oversight across various disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural systems, requiring a fundamental understanding of these areas. The Project Manager will work independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to operational challenges, ensuring project execution aligns with company strategy and goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project management and execution of critical infrastructure improvement projects within operational data centers.
• Coordinate and implement project plans ensuring consistency with company strategy and commitments.
• Review and provide oversight for all project disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural.
• Identify areas for improvement based on data from various teams and organizations.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to tackle challenges in designing, building, and operating data center facilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience managing projects in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
• 5+ years experience in Construction or Project Management.
• 5+ years experience in on-site construction trades (mechanical, electrical, general) and vendor management.

Nice-to-haves

• BA/BS in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or similar technical focus.
• 5+ years experience in power distribution and data center mechanical cooling systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage trade-offs and evaluate new ideas with stakeholders.
• Significant experience delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
