About the position
The Data Center Project Manager for the Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team at Amazon is responsible for overseeing and executing critical infrastructure improvement projects within operational data centers. This role involves managing construction activities that optimize space, power, and cooling, while ensuring alignment with company strategies and goals. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to address operational challenges and implement innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee project management and execution of critical infrastructure improvement projects in data centers.
- Coordinate and review all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural aspects of projects.
- Identify areas for improvement based on data analysis and team input.
- Design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to operational challenges.
- Ensure project consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals.
- Interact with various teams to prioritize activities that support data center capacity and safety.
- Manage the overall direction, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects.
Requirements
- Fundamental understanding of electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems.
- Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in project oversight and management in a technical environment.
