About the position

The Data Center Security Technician role at Delta Systems involves supporting the development of the security division within a data center environment. The technician will be responsible for installing and maintaining security devices and hardware, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to facilitate project progress. This position requires a strong understanding of data center infrastructure technologies and the ability to perform various technical tasks related to security systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of the security division.
• Install security devices and hardware including DPS, card readers, REX, mag-locks, and cameras.
• Perform installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
• Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
• Exhibit quality workmanship and maintain cleanliness in the Data Center.
• Follow production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
• Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation.
• Troubleshoot copper and fiber cables and perform fiber splicing.

Requirements

• Previous commercial security experience including cabling rough in and cable terminations.
• Knowledge of inscribing IP addresses on cameras.
• Familiarity with the Lenel brand and basic telecom hand tools.
• Ability to read and understand job floor plans and wiring schemes.
• Experience in pulling low voltage cable and performing field terminations.
• Capability to maintain orderly paperwork and run midsize projects and service jobs.
• Basic understanding of copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

• LEB Certifications desired but not required.
• BICSI and industry Certifications are desired but not required.
