About the position

Eaton's Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions business is hiring a Data Center Segment Leader in Highland IL, Moon Township PA, Syracuse NY or Arden, NC. This position requires 25% travel. GEIS is hiring a knowledgeable, collaborative, and passionate Data Center Segment Leader. This Segment Leader, in cross functional coordination across GEIS and the Legacy Eaton business, will own development and execution of the Data Center growth plan for the GEIS business. You will actively develop and drive Sales opportunities for GEIS offerings including products, services & turnkey projects associated with the data center segment. You will be a bridge between customers, GEIS Sales, technical sales consultants, subject matter experts and third-party technology providers to create solutions. The focus of this role will be on development and growth for the US followed by leveraging customer relationships in global markets. As the Data Center Segment Leader, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a Data Center growth strategy, understanding the competitive landscape, bringing Data Center offering requirements into the business. Build strong customer and partner relationships, helping to build and close a sales pipeline, creating programs that will drive dramatic revenue ramp and market share for business. The Data Center Segment Leader will drive the optimization of our offerings by leveraging strategic marketing initiatives to enhance customer engagement and market penetration. To succeed, you must have a strong track record of supporting sales growth, data center market awareness & relationships, a keen eye for technical details, and a passion for delivering results.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and develop Business and Sales opportunities to resulting in GEIS growth within the data center segment.
  • Lead GEIS technical sales engagement with clients in the Data Center industry (e.g. Amazon, Meta, Equinix, Cloud HQ, Microsoft) for outcomes, consultative and solution selling opportunities.
  • Work with the technical sales consultants and proposals team within the region, to develop value propositions for key stakeholders: executives, operators, finance leaders and IT leaders.
  • Lead and manage new customer accounts.
  • Integrate and work across Eaton on broader company sales efforts, marketing efforts, educational and promotional efforts which can accelerate growth.
  • Assist with product development efforts by gathering Voice of Customer feedback and project specifications to advise respective engineering and product line teams.
  • Develop relationships with consultants, designers, end users, specifiers, EPCs and systems integrators focused on data center market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years of Product / Segment Marketing, Electrical Sales, Applications and / or Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Highland IL, Moon Township PA, Syracuse NY or Arden, NC.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in technical, STEM, computer science, electrical or mechanical engineering. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical sales experience with contemporary software technologies like cloud/SaaS, AI/ML, edge computing solutions, analytics software packages and cybersecurity.
  • Minimum 5 years of outcomes selling, consultative, selling experience to executive and technical buyers.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing and translating business use cases to solution requirements and architecture documentation, with focus on electrical products, solutions, software and services, ideally in the Data Center industry.
