About the position

AMD is searching for engineering talent to set and drive future systems level vision and technical requirements for AMD's Data Center Solutions Group (DSG). This role involves joining a team of seasoned system engineers who work across various domains including hardware and software, from node level to rack level design, encompassing BIOS and security, cloud-native computing, memory technologies, high-performance fabrics, and applications in 5G, automotive, server/storage, and cloud environments. The DSG Architecture and Strategy team aims to inform and influence AMD's leading System on Chips (SoCs), optimized for future visions through collaboration with internal stakeholders, customers, end users, and strategic partners. Ideal candidates will possess a broad and deep understanding of system technologies, with experience in developing, influencing, and collaborating on strategic initiatives. They should be able to translate workload and application trends into system and SoC implications across the entire hardware and software stack. The role requires the ability to convert highly technical concepts into actionable plans and to drive hands-on proof of concepts to gather data and facts. Exceptional communication skills are essential for addressing multiple internal and external stakeholders, along with the ability to analyze trade-offs and make analytical, fact-based recommendations that have significant technical, business, and financial impacts. Candidates will also need to guide product definitions using credible insights gained from interactions with end customers, Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs), and strategic partners. Building relationships with strategic customers and partners is crucial to ensure that AMD's datacenter products evolve to meet market needs. Collaboration skills are necessary to engage a team of engineering, product management, and business development professionals to achieve outstanding business results.

Responsibilities

  • Drive workload and application-level strategies internally and with industry partners / ecosystem.
  • Partner with SoC design teams in providing a unified and clear platform / system level vision to influence AMD's SoC roadmap.
  • Drive reference platform requirements and partner with engineering on balance of internal / external execution.
  • Represent AMD datacenter system level vision in industry consortiums, events, and strategic partnerships.
  • Work with OEMs, end customers, ISV/IHV partners to drive workload and use case plans that facilitate joint roadmap definition.
