About the position

The Data Center Support Technician is responsible for providing corporate computer support, including monitoring computer systems, performing backups, and offering helpdesk support. This full-time position requires the technician to assist users with technical issues, configure and upgrade PC components, and ensure the smooth operation of desktop environments.

Responsibilities

• Provides users with computer help desk / technical support.
• Assembles and configures PC components.
• Upgrades computer hardware and software components as required.
• Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on user's premises.
• Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computers.
• Coordinates activities with help desk, network services, or other information systems groups.
• Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2-3 years of experience as a data center technician, or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of desktop environment.
• Experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining desktop equipment.
• Exceptional ability to work as part of a team, provide IT support, and resolve errors.
• Ability to keep up with advancements in data center infrastructure and technologies.
• Proficiency in documenting network processes.
• Exceptional communication skills.
