The Data Center Switchgear and Generator Technician position at Central Power Systems & Services is a full-time role focused on the installation, start-up, and commissioning of critical power systems, particularly in the context of backup power generation. This position requires a strong collaboration with the Engineering and Sales teams to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of power generation equipment, including switchgear, unit substations, and transformers. The technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic and repair procedures on various systems, including PLCs and AC/DC switchgear, and will also conduct scheduled maintenance on electric power generation equipment such as transfer switches and switchgear. In addition to technical responsibilities, the technician will coordinate with partnered service suppliers, particularly engine manufacturers, and work closely with installing electrical contractors to oversee the correction of any issues that arise during commissioning. Familiarity with data centers is preferred, as the role involves learning about structured cabling solutions, network architecture, and maintaining inventory management through Excel spreadsheets. The technician will also be expected to perform any other tasks assigned by the Manager, Engineer, or Sales team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
