About the position

As a CBRE Data Center Technical Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a large Data Center. This position involves performing preventative maintenance and complex corrective repairs, which are essential for maintaining the integrity and functionality of critical client environments. You will be part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, responsible for delivering technical maintenance services that are vital to the operation of the data center. In this role, you will coordinate and manage the daily activities of your team, establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring that staff are cross-trained to handle various responsibilities. You will set and track deadlines for both staff and departmental objectives, providing mentorship and coaching as necessary to foster a productive work environment. Continuous improvement of preventive maintenance programs will be a key focus, as you will maintain effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals. You will also coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel, and technicians, overseeing all building systems, including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical issues. Staying current with the latest technology trends will be essential to your success in this role. Communication will be a significant part of your responsibilities, as you will guide ongoing interactions with tenants, clients, owners, facility management teams, and vendors. In emergency situations, you will be expected to respond promptly and address customer concerns effectively. Leading by example, you will model behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values and influence parties with shared interests to reach agreements. Your technical knowledge will be applied to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues that may arise within existing systems and processes.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Training in a Technical discipline with apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Journeyman/Electrician or HVAC license preferred.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive and complicated information.
  • Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the role.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
