About the position

The Data Center Engineer position at Verisign involves working under the supervision of the Data Center Operations Senior Manager to manage rack and cable activities in a Data Center environment. The role requires troubleshooting server hardware, cabling, and network issues while ensuring the security and stability of internet infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

• Installation and configuration of both copper & fiber Ethernet Local Area Networks
• Knowledge of IP sub-netting and basic networking
• Installation of network & server infrastructure into datacenter racks
• Decommissioning of hardware, hardware troubleshooting, and hardware repairs
• Provide escort for onsite visitors regarding hardware failures
• Provide escort for data center walk throughs
• Participate in required data center audits

Requirements

• Associates degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years' IT or Data Center Operations experience
• BICSI Technician certification or equivalent work experience desired
• Comp TIA A+ or Network+ certification or equivalent work experience
• Ability to lift 50 LBS
• Word processing / data entry skills
• Systems and/or Network Support skills
