About the position

The Data Center Technician role focuses on maintaining Mac systems and Supermicro hardware within a data center environment. The technician will collaborate with IT operations to troubleshoot system issues, manage hardware installations and upgrades, and ensure optimal performance of the systems. This position requires working closely with cross-functional teams to manage infrastructure and participate in various operational activities.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Mac, Dell, and Supermicro hardware in a data center environment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues related to Mac systems, Supermicro servers, and networking components.
  • Conduct routine health checks and optimize systems for maximum performance.
  • Work collaboratively with IT operations and other teams to provide hands-on technical support.
  • Oversee infrastructure like power, cooling, and cabling, ensuring seamless data center operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on configurations, issues, and system changes.

Requirements

  • Experience with Mac systems in a data center or enterprise setting.
  • Knowledgeable in server hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Familiar with data center best practices for racking, cabling, and environmental monitoring.
  • Solid networking knowledge, with experience handling switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to respond to on-call incidents as needed.

  • Flexible with working hours, including on-call shifts and weekends.
