About the position

The Data Center Technician role at Insight Global involves working primarily in the Reno, NV area, focusing on the physical management of network and server equipment within a technology company. The technician will be responsible for racking, cabling, and inventorying equipment, as well as troubleshooting and repairing hardware components. This position requires a hands-on approach to support special projects and ensure the efficient operation of data center equipment.

Responsibilities

• Rack, cable, and inventory network and server equipment.
• Understand, learn, and apply diagnostic methods to troubleshoot data center equipment.
• Physically assist in moving, installing, and racking equipment as directed for special projects.
• Troubleshoot or repair server and network hardware, including hard drives, memory, and network drives.

Requirements

• Experience working in a data center, warehouse, shipping and receiving, or similar role.
• Basic understanding of IT principles, including networking and servers.
• Reliable and able to take direction.
• High School Diploma is required.
