The Data Center Technician role at Insight Global involves working for a major technology client in Irving, TX, focusing on the preparation, setup, and maintenance of data center equipment. This position is ideal for individuals seeking foundational experience in IT, with training provided to ensure proficiency in various tasks related to data center operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of data center equipment according to specific instructions and protocols.
• Conduct post-execution quality checks to verify proper setup of grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling according to safety protocols.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with data center equipment.
• Decommission hardware for upgrades and refreshes following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
• 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous data center experience.
• Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training.
• 2-4 years experience in a related field.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills and customer service skills.
