About the position

As a CBRE Data Center Regional Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of CBRE Technical Services for global data center clients. This role is crucial in ensuring that all technical services meet client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and that the data centers maintain 100% uptime. You will be accountable for pricing, delivery, and scope of vendor maintenance contracts, as well as the development of market-leading processes and critical operations documentation. Your responsibilities will include providing technical service support to the business, which encompasses preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems. In this position, you will support the management of a team of Technical Leaders and Managers, creating and maintaining a set of CBRE Critical Environment technical operational processes and procedures for each location. You will manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities, develop operating and capital budgets, and drive the acquisition of new management contracts. Your role will also involve maintaining ongoing communication with high-profile tenants, clients, owners, facility management teams, and vendors. You will recommend and implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs on an ongoing basis and create effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals. Additionally, you will provide technical support during incidents, review and approve High Risk emergency operating procedures for clients worldwide, and support the management and production of asset management plans for each client location. Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and statutory regulations will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also present critical facility program and audit results to senior management and perform audits on various systems to identify gaps and risks. Your leadership will be essential in developing operational procedural documents and supporting critical facilities commissioning standards. You will also assist in the sales and pricing process for third-party critical facility vendor contracts, ensuring that all scopes of work align with client contract requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to managing technical and operational problems, improving existing methods and processes, and leading by example to influence others within the organization. Your ability to communicate complex information effectively and motivate your team will be vital to achieving operational targets and maintaining high standards in a critical facility environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the management of a team of Technical Leaders and Managers to create and maintain CBRE Critical Environment technical operational processes & procedures.
  • Manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities.

  • Provide technical support during incidents and for client projects.
  • Review, comment, and approve High Risk emergency operating procedures for clients worldwide.
  • Provide strategic and operational support on process/standards across the Global portfolio.
  • Evaluate technical operational processes and procedures with a focus on continual improvement.
  • Support the management and production of asset management plans for each client location.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and statutory regulations.
  • Present critical facility program and audit results to senior management.
  • Perform audits on PPM systems and statutory files, identifying gaps and risks.
  • Oversee the development of operation procedural documents from commissioning documentation and site drawings.
  • Support critical facilities commissioning standards within the accounts.
  • Assist in the sales and pricing process for third-party critical facility vendor contracts.
  • Coordinate performance evaluations, including technical environmental audits and troubleshooting.
  • Provide support and training for onsite engineering Managers/Supervisors.
  • Deliver manager employee training programs to improve awareness of processes and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • 10 years experience in Data Centers or Critical Facilities is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive and complicated information.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve operational targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Knowledge of redundancy levels and their relation to operational risk.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical distribution system support and equipment function.
  • Understanding of procedures and customer requirements in critical facilities.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, and performance appraisal.
