About the position

As a CBRE Data Center Regional Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of CBRE Technical Services for global data center clients. This role is crucial in ensuring that all technical services meet client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and that the operations maintain 100% uptime. You will be accountable for pricing, delivery, and scope of vendor maintenance contracts, as well as the development of market-leading processes and critical operations documentation. Your responsibilities will include providing technical service support to the business, managing a team of Technical Leaders and Managers, and creating and maintaining a set of CBRE Critical Environment technical operational processes and procedures for each location that align with contractual requirements and industry best practices. In this position, you will manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities, develop operating and capital budgets, and drive the acquisition of new management contracts. You will facilitate the development of as-built drawings and maintain ongoing communication with high-profile tenants, clients, owners, facility management teams, and vendors. Your role will also involve recommending and implementing improvements for preventive maintenance programs, creating and maintaining effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals, and providing technical support during incidents. You will review, comment, and approve High Risk emergency operating procedures for clients worldwide, and provide strategic and operational support on processes and standards across the global portfolio. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that all sites conform to necessary legislation and statutory compliance, presenting critical facility program and audit results to CBRE and client senior management, and performing customer interface activities including scheduling and reporting of findings. You will also oversee the development of operation procedural documents from commissioning documentation and site drawings, support critical facilities commissioning standards, and ensure that all third-party scope, works, and performance align with client contract requirements. Your leadership will be essential in managing technical library content and structure globally, executing operational and performance risk assessments, and influencing others to adopt new perspectives while adhering to policies and departmental plans.

Responsibilities

  • Support the management of a team of Technical Leaders and Managers.
  • Create and maintain a set of CBRE Critical Environment technical operational processes & procedures for each location.
  • Manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities.

  • Support the management, production and ongoing use of the asset management plans for each client location.
  • Ensure that the client contract provides healthy and safe working conditions.
  • Support the management of ensuring all sites conform to necessary legislations and statutory compliances.
  • Present critical facility program and audit results to CBRE and client senior management.
  • Perform customer interface activities including scheduling, reporting of findings and results.
  • Audit processes and procedures, perform audits on the PPM system, PPM reporting, Statutory files etc.
  • Carry out compliance audits and identify any gaps & risks associated and ensure a plan is in place to close these issues.
  • Oversee development of operation procedural documents from commissioning documentation and site drawings.
  • Support critical facilities commissioning standards within the accounts.

  • Provide support in the sales and pricing process, implementation, and delivery for all 3rd party critical facility vendor contracts.
  • Ensure that all 3rd party scope, works and performance are in line with client contract requirements, audits and evaluations.
  • Target cost saving initiatives whilst maintaining a high level of contract support.
  • Assist sales and marketing in development and preparation of expansion and renewal proposals.
  • Coordinate the performance of raised floor performance evaluations, including technical environmental audits, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Provide support and training for the onsite engineering Managers/Supervisors.
  • Deliver manager employee training programs relating to new and existing processes to improve awareness.
  • Work with Technical Leads to develop, track and maintain procedures and policies.
  • Manage technical library content and structure globally.
  • Execute operational and performance risk assessment.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience.
  • 10 years experience in Data Centers or Critical Facilities is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Knowledge of redundancy levels and relation to operational risk.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical distribution system support and equipment function.
  • Knowledge of procedures and customer requirements in critical facilities.
  • Understanding of relationship of technical strategies within a critical facility environment.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
