About the position

As a Data Center Technical Manager at CBRE, you will oversee the delivery of technical services for global data center clients, ensuring 100% uptime and compliance with client SLAs. This role involves managing vendor maintenance contracts, developing operational processes, and providing technical support to maintain critical operations. You will lead a team, manage facility operations, and ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the management of a team of Technical Leaders and Managers to create and maintain operational processes and procedures.
  • Manage operations and maintenance for assigned facilities.
  • Develop operating and capital budgets.
  • Drive the acquisition of new management contracts.
  • Facilitate the development of as-built drawings.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with high-profile tenants, clients, owners, and vendors.
  • Recommend and implement improvements for preventive maintenance programs.
  • Create and maintain effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
  • Provide technical support during incidents and for client projects.
  • Review and approve High Risk emergency operating procedures for clients worldwide.
  • Evaluate technical operational processes for continual improvement.
  • Support the management and production of asset management plans for each client location.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies across all activities.
  • Present critical facility program and audit results to senior management.
  • Perform audits on PPM systems and statutory files.
  • Oversee development of operation procedural documents from commissioning documentation.
  • Support critical facilities commissioning standards.
  • Provide support in the sales and pricing process for vendor contracts.
  • Coordinate performance evaluations and technical audits.
  • Deliver training programs for onsite engineering managers and supervisors.
  • Manage technical library content and structure globally.
  • Execute operational and performance risk assessments.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in Data Centers or Critical Facilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Knowledge of redundancy levels and operational risk.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical distribution systems and equipment functions.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, and performance management.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years experience in Data Centers or Critical Facilities preferred.
  • Leadership skills to motivate teams and achieve operational targets.
  • Understanding of technical strategies within a critical facility environment.
