About the position

The Data Center Technical Support role at Interclypse, Inc. involves providing comprehensive support for computer centers, including planning, analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems. The position is integral to the modernization and sustainment of critical systems for Maryland state agencies, allowing candidates to contribute to the long-term health and success of the state while fostering professional growth within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop/provide user manuals, programmer maintenance manuals, and system design documentation.
  • Analyze and assess equipment and performance degradation, determining necessary hardware, software, and technical changes.
  • Perform data entry and provide support services for operational data storage and retrieval applications.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery systems and processes.
  • Develop standard operating procedures for the data center and associated systems/applications.
  • Provide alternative sources of computer operations support and/or data center facilities.
  • Assist users with personalized assistance, telephone assistance, and limited training.
  • Perform hardware/software testing, installation, and maintenance.
  • Collect and maintain statistics on hardware and software problems, maintenance service calls, and user base.
  • Migrate data between systems, including data QA/QC, cleansing, and conversion.
  • Monitor system performance and coordinate with vendors and users for efficient system use.
  • Provide technical training on all system functions.
  • Develop requirements/specifications for hardware, software, and services.
  • Develop special applications as required.
  • Maintain system architecture/schematic for hardware, software, circuits, and codes.
  • Develop and maintain a configuration management program for all supported applications.
  • Develop and maintain a lifecycle management program for all hardware and software applications.
  • Centrally administer software licenses, including dynamic allocation.
  • Perform network-based detection of viruses and unauthorized software.
  • Centrally distribute electronic software.
  • Migrate systems between State-owned and/or commercial facilities.
  • Manage and administer user identifications, passwords, and security keys.
  • Provide secure data center facilities to host mission-critical applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Networking, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Three (3) years relevant experience.
