About the position

The Data Center Technician 2-IT role at Oracle involves hands-on work with enterprise servers and networking infrastructure in a fast-paced, global data center environment. The technician will be responsible for hardware installation, maintenance, and documentation, ensuring alignment with service level agreements. This position requires a strong commitment to teamwork, punctuality, and ongoing learning in new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Hardware installation and decommission of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure.
• Fix and repair data center hardware and networking infrastructure within Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Rack and stack data center equipment, including servers and networking devices.
• Handle daily work through internal tooling systems such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Document activities and align with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Receive, track, and ship data center equipment as needed.
• Install, label, and fix fiber/copper/telecom cables and patch panel systems.
• Provide on-call emergency support at pre-determined times.
• Participate in training to bridge skill gaps and learn new technologies.

Requirements

• 2 years working in an IT environment.
• Knowledge of server/storage/network hardware systems and components.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong interest in learning new data center concepts and technology.
• Dependable and trustworthy.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 2-year or 4-year degree or relevant work experience.
• 2 years of enterprise Linux administration knowledge or other command line interface knowledge/experience.
• 1 year experience in Structured Cabling Copper/Fiber and testing of cables.
• 1 year experience in Cooling and Electrical systems concepts inside the data center.
