About the position

The System Administrator 3-IT position at Oracle involves performing key roles in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies within the OCI data center environments. The role requires a skilled technician to handle hardware installation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of data center systems, ensuring efficient operation and maintenance of the infrastructure. The position is critical in supporting the data center's operational needs and includes responsibilities for documentation, inventory management, and collaboration with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Hardware installation and decommission of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure.
• Troubleshooting and repair of data center hardware and networking infrastructure.
• Rack and stack of data center equipment, including servers and networking devices.
• Monitoring of data center environments using monitoring tools.
• Documentation of activities and creation/modification of SOPs.
• Managing the decommission life cycle of data center hardware.
• Inventory process, ordering replacement parts, and returning failed parts as required.
• Structured cabling, labeling, and troubleshooting of fiber/copper/telecom cables.
• Completing small projects independently and collaborating on larger projects with management.

Requirements

• 2 years working in an IT environment.
• Troubleshooting experience on servers, networking devices, and IT equipment.
• Inventory management experience, including ordering, receiving, and shipping server parts.
• Ability to prioritize work based on business needs and urgency.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of server/storage/network hardware.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.
• Experience taking on-call shifts and responding to critical events.

Nice-to-haves

• 2-year or 4-year degree or relevant work experience.
• 2 years of data center experience.
• Linux administration knowledge and ability to run Linux commands.
• Data center networking knowledge.
• Experience in data center infrastructure projects.
• 1 year experience in structured cabling (copper/fiber) and testing of cables.
• 1 year experience in cooling and electrical systems concepts inside the data center.
